The waffles here are pretty good but nothing special, as it is just a waffle with some toppings. We got the build your own waffle with cookie butter and strawberries, which was good especially when it was hot. However, I do think it is quite expensive for what it is. There is no seating, and you cannot enter the store, just pick up your food from the window.

I love a good liege waffle, and while Little Gem is tasty, it's not quiiiiite all the way there. The texture is not dense enough, and it's also not caramelized enough. Don't get me wrong, it's still delicious though, especially when it's slathered in speculoos. The entrance is blocked off, and you order on the kiosk. You're guaranteed a fresh waffle, as they're made to order, but I don't love that you have to wait on the street.

Every time I start craving waffles, I always find myself at Little Gem -- even at 11pm in the rain. Their waffles are always such a treat; the waffles are cooked to sweet perfection, topped off with relatively fresh strawberries and cream. If you don't like cream, they have many other equally delicious selections with Nutella, marshmallows, etc. for toppings. Little Gem is located right down Telegraph so it's relatively close to the Berkeley campus, but there isn't any seating inside or outside the shop. All orders are taken through a Snackpass kiosk, and waffles are served on either a plate or a take-out box for $0.25, fresh, hot and toasty. Service time varies depending on time of day, but expect to wait ~10min. It'll be worth it!

I love this cute college town desert place. What can be better than a custom made Belgium waffle topped with your choice of ice cream amd toppings. Or get one of their own creations when you order ahead online. Only downside is there is no seating so either eat standing or hope you make it back before the ice cream melts all over your waffle, either way it's good albeit a bit pricey for a take out only place.

A perfect place to stop at for dessert! You order on the kiosk (which has pictures & descriptions of each item) and they will text you when your order is ready. Although it was busy, our order came out fast and was delicious. This is located on a busy street so parking can get hard. However, there are parking garages that are just a few minute walk away.

I'm a waffle guy, and there's no denying it. Earlier in the year, I looked up desserts after getting sushi in the area and was pleasantly surprised to find a dessert waffle spot in the area and stopped by, and unfortunately, have been coming here regularly ever since. You wouldn't know it by judging it by the outside. A place next to some bar, with no dining room, a self service kiosk, and people working who run it up to the window to pass your waffle over once ready. But the magic truly is in the scent of sweet waffles being made that floats up and down the street that I noticed people walking past looking inside to see what's going on. I always get the churro waffle with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and their whipped cream on top. The ice cream is always a generous portion, the cream is not your regular whipped cream and has this heaviness that makes me crave it all the time, and perfectly paired with the crispy yet soft warm waffle it's piled on top of. Little Gem is truly a little gem in the heart of Berkeley and always worth the stop by.

Ever since I've had Little Gems for the first time, I find myself craving it over and over again and even at random occasions. It's the perfect sweet treat to satisfy any dessert craving. There are so many options of waffles to choose from, and you can even build your own. It's also open late, so it's the perfect place to end the night! My favorite waffle is the Rise n' Shine. It comes with bananas and speculoos (cookie butter).

Craving something sweet & delicious? Or need a sweet treat for those good or bad days? Then I definitely recommend this place! Heads up this place only does togo orders & doesn't have indoor seating. You have the option of having the waffle on a plate or a togo container that charge you $0.25. The ordering process is through a tablet but they also have an online order system if you prefer that. It takes around 5 mins for your order to come out if there no line. I got the crown jewel & it was delicious! Since there was no seating at the restaurant me & my friends walked around the area to find seats & were bit worried that our waffles were gonna be soggy, especially when my friends got their waffles with ice cream, by the time we found a place to sit. When we found a seat the waffle was still crispy! The waffle was so delicious & sweet! The whipped cream & strawberries complemented the waffle really well. My friend got the same thing but with ice cream & I had a bite of theirs & it was so yummy! I would definitely recommend getting the waffle with ice cream.

This place is so addictive. I have to be VERY careful whenever I walk by, lest I keep ordering from them and turn into a giant waffle myself. The waffles are made fresh to order (you can see them prepare the dough) and they come out warm, crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside, and with fresh toppings. It's a true hole-in-the-wall and a true gem in Berkeley. I always get the Crown Jewel, which comes with freshly sliced strawberries and a rich house-made cream. These are possibly the best Belgian Waffles I've ever had.
